Jeffrey R. Bailey
CEO/Director
Jeffrey R. Bailey, 51, joined Tengasco in March 2002 as chief geological engineer. He was named Tengasco president in July 2002 and chief executive officer in Nov. 2005. He has twice served on the board, from Feb. 2003 to Aug. 2004 and from Oct. 2004 to the present. Mr. Bailey has 28 years of oil and gas exploration, management, and reservoir evaluation experience. From 1980 to 2002 he held various positions of increasing management and technical responsibility within Halliburton. While with Halliburton he worked in many countries in Central and South America, Europe, Africa and Asia, developing a special interest and expertise in carbonate reservoirs and log analysis. Mr. Bailey has authored and presented numerous technical papers and has taught log analysis and carbonate reservoir management at many companies and universities around the world. He is fluent in Spanish, and earned a B.S. degree in Geological Engineering in 1980 from New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology.
C. Patrick McInturff
Vice President
C. Patrick McInturff, 57, earned his B.S. degree in Civil Engineering in 1975 from Texas A&M University, after which he joined Exxon in Midland, Texas. During his five years in Midland, he worked as a drilling, reservoir and production engineer – ultimately specializing in secondary recovery - for Exxon and Union Texas Petroleum. He relocated to Houston in 1980. In Houston he has worked with Union Texas (6 years); Belco Petroleum (2 years); Global Natural Resources (3 years); Ryder Scott Company (16 years); and Capco Offshore, Inc. (2 years). These roles, as well as a stint as an offshore production engineer in the Gulf of Mexico, expanded his expertise in secondary recovery operations and evaluation. During his 16 years with Ryder Scott he gained valuable experience as an oil and gas property appraiser in many basins in the U.S. and internationally in Pakistan, Peru, China and Venezuela. Mr. McInturff joined Tengasco in December, 2007.
Cary V. Sorensen
Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary
Cary Sorensen, 60, is a 1976 graduate of the University of Texas School of Law, and he also holds undergraduate degrees from North Texas State University and Catholic University in Washington D.C. From 1977 until joining Tengasco in July 1999, Mr. Sorensen was engaged in the practice of law in Houston, Texas concentrating in the energy industry. He worked in private law firms and in corporate law. He represented virtually all of the major oil companies headquartered in Houston, as well as local distribution companies and electric utilities in a variety of litigated and administrative cases before state and federal courts and agencies in five states. These matters involved gas contracts; gas marketing; exploration and production disputes involving royalties or operating interests; land titles; oil pipelines and gas pipelines; tariff matters at the state and federal levels; and general operation and regulation of gas pipelines.
Michael J. Rugen
Chief Financial Officer
Michael J. Rugen, 49, was named Tengasco chief financial officer in September 2009. He is a certified public accountant (Texas) with over 27 years E&P and oilfield service experience. Prior to joining to Tengasco, Mr. Rugen spent 2 years as VP of Accounting and Finance for Nighthawk Oilfield Services. From 2001 to June 2007, he was a Manager/Sr. Manager with UHY Advisors, primarily responsible for managing internal audit and Sarbanes-Oxley 404 engagements for various oil and gas clients. Prior to joining UHY, Mr. Rugen spent two years as a consultant with Jefferson Wells working with E&P and oilfield service clients. From 1982 to 1998, Mr. Rugen held various accounting and management positions at BHP Petroleum, with accounting responsibilities for onshore and offshore US operations as well as operations in Trinidad and Bolivia. Mr. Rugen earned a B.S. in Accounting in 1982 from Indiana University.
Rod Tremblay
Senior Geologist
Rod Tremblay joined Tengasco in October 2005 as senior geologist. Rod has almost 30 years of experience as a professional geologist, primarily in the North American midcontinent and Rocky Mountains regions. Before coming to Tengasgo, Rod was an independent geologist involved in the exploration and marketing of oil and gas properties throughout the midcontinent and Rocky Mountains. He had previously served as managing partner and senior geologist for Rockhound Resources, a small midcontinent exploration company. Rod was responsible for sales and purchases of oil and gas properties and marketing prospects to potential clients. Early in his career he had the opportunity to work at the Nevada Test Site on the Yucca Mountain project where his responsibility was surficial geologic mapping as part of the permit process for the sighting of a high level radioactive waste repository. Rod holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in geology. He is an adjunct professor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Gary Wagner
Production Manager
Gary J. Wagner has been with Tengasco since 2003. Since January 2005 he has been production manager of Tengasco’s Kansas operations. Gary attended Fort Hays State University in Hays Kansas. Prior to working with Tengasco, Gary was employed as district manager with Micro Well Services. His numerous duties including treating wells and municipal systems, well site workover supervision and sales duties for microbial products. He was employed by OXY USA, Inc. from 1975 to 1998 as a production coordinator, a senior engineering technician and a field supervisor. His responsibilities included computerized record keeping, supervision of daily production and field hourly employees, supervised contract labor, workover and drilling rigs.
Bill Miller
Pipeline Manager
Bill Miller joined Tengasco in 2002. He worked with Halliburton Resource Management from 1976-1981 in Casper, Wyoming as a service technician on natural gas compressors, high speed engines and pipeline processing equipment such as amine plants, metering devices, dehydrators, process control regulators and stripping plants. He worked in Corbin, Kentucky from 1981 -1985 as a field supervisor for Tidewater Corp., which later became Universal Compression Company. Bill was president of operations for Huntington Energy from 1985-1992. At Huntington Energy he was responsible for overseeing the drilling of over 200 wells, constructing over 100 miles of pipeline and 60 miles of transportation line in Kentucky and 73 wells and over 40 miles of pipeline in Indiana. In 1992, with two partners, he formed South East Energy Consultants. He has performed contract consulting services for Michigan Wisconsin Pipeline, Quasar; Texas Eastern Pipeline; Tenneco; Wisser Oil Co.; Davis Oil Co.;, Diamond Shamrock Co.; TranX Pipeline; Delta Water & Gas; A.K.S. of KY; Alternate Fuels; and Somerset Pipeline.
Mitchell Scruggs
Marketing Manager
Mitchell Scruggs earned a B.A. in economics from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 1985. Following graduation, he joined United Cities Gas Company in Columbus, Georgia, serving in various sales and marketing functions until 1990 when he joined the Municipal Gas Authority of Georgia. In his business development and management position he assisted municipally-owned gas systems throughout the southeast in wholesale and retail natural gas marketing. Mitchell consulted with elected and governing bodies - primarily in Georgia, Florida and Alabama until 1998 when he was hired by TECO Peoples Gas. Mitchell served as director of the north Florida region of Peoples Gas System and he served in that role until 2000, when he accepted the managing position for TECO Gas Services (TGS), a Florida-focused gas marketing company. His responsibilities at TGS included gas procurement, marketing, billing, and personnel management. In his three years with TGS he managed the company through an intense growth phase, from 700 commercial and industrial customers to over 3,700. Mitchell left TGS in 2002 to start SEA Holdings, his own natural gas consultancy, headquartered in Roswell, Georgia. Today SEA Holdings serves 20 multi-sited commercial customers and five large industrials operating in 10 states. Mitchell has served as a director of the Tengasco Pipeline Corporation since 2005, and also consults with the company management on business issues and natural gas opportunities.
